programsACEF is currently running the scholarship and international adoption programs. In 2008 ACEF will open two orphanages in Ghana, one for boys and the other for girls. Also, in 2008 ACEF will begin construction on a K-12 elementary school in at Old Offinso Township in Ghana. The following list highlights what has been accomplished thus far, and what is projected for the future for ACEF. 1. Sponsorships and Scholarships:Ghana Representatives for ACEF have recommended approximately 50 children in need of sponsors. The selection criteria include: Children who have police or criminal record, a history of pregnancy for girls, a history of fatherhood for boys, are not eligible to participate in ACEF. Children who are confirmed as being orphans receive a higher ranking than those who are not orphans. ACEF currently has 15 American citizens sponsoring 21 children in various cities in Ghana. Sponsors make monthly or quarterly contributions, which are then transferred directly to the schools in Ghana or to ACEF country representatives who ensure the funds are distributed for the intended purposes. End of Semester grade reports are sent to all sponsors. Correspondence between sponsored children and sponsors in America is encouraged. ACEF Inc issues an IRS Form 1099 at end of the year to all sponsors for tax deductions. In FY 2008, ACEF intends to increase the number of sponsored children from 21 to 42. Average cost to sponsor a child in Ghanaian K-12 schools is $50 per month or $600 per year. This contribution covers tuition, transportation, uniforms, school lunch, furniture fees, computer user fees, bed user fees, examination fees, etc. 2. International Adoptions:In FY 2007, ACEF Inc partnered with African Cradle Inc of Modesto California to process deserving orphaned children for adoption in America.
